E-Series Impending drive failure detected by drive - AutoSupport Message

Event Summary
SANtricity reports a impending drive failure. This means that the drive could/should fail soon. The data on the drive is still available to the E-Series system.
Validate
- Login to SANtricity Storage Manager or SANtricity System Manager
- Verify from the Hardware page if the disk shows as impending failure
- The event log should report one or more of the following errors:
Event type: 2285 Description: Impending drive failure detected by driveEvent type:101f Description: Summary of impending drive failure detected by controllerEvent type: 1023 Description: Drive copy triggered by a controller detected impending drive failure
Resolution
- Monitor the system and check within several hours drive should fail.
- This will result in a drive failure event E-Series Drive failure - AutoSupport Message
- If AutoSupport is enabled, this event should create a technical support case once the drive is failed
- Replace the drive once its failed.
- It might be required to manually fail the drive if the data copy is not progressing. Only perform this action when instructed by NetApp Technical Support.
