Cloud Volumes ONTAP - Failed to retrieve instance metadata

Issue

  • Working Environment is showing as "Failed" or "Degraded" in Cloud Manager.
  • Connectivity to the object-store is unavailable and shares are not accessible to users.
  • Running cluster show or  event log show commands from Cloud Volumes ONTAP CLI return the following warning:
 
Warning: Unable to list entries on node cluster01-01. Failed to retrieve instance metadata.
         Unable to list entries on node cluster01-02. Failed to retrieve instance metadata.
  • virtual-machine instance show output does not display any information
