Issue

  • Initializing a system with advanced drive partitioning (ADP) on an AFF A150 or ASA A150 storage system with 10 ~ 18 (5 ~ 9 per node) solid-state drives (SSD) via boot menu options 9a and 9b.
  • ADP uses half of the drives for each node to create a root aggregate and root volume.
  • ADP should leave a root partition on one drive as a spare partition, but it is assigned as a data drive in the root aggregate, instead.
  • Example: On a 10-drive system, ADP configures the root aggregate RAID group as 3d + 2p + 0s instead of the expected configuration of 2d + 2p + 1s drive root partitions
