Global File Cache: How to remove old or unused data from a cache drive left from a defunct backend fileserver

Description

  • At times the Cache Cleaner will not be able to remove old files and folders from the cache drive.
  • This can happen when backend file servers are physically retired but not removed from the GFC UI. 
  • In the steps below we use robocopy to essentially copy over the the stale cache location with an empty folder.
