Temporary low NVRAM battery temperature and capacity warning on AFF-A900

Issue

  • The EMS log reports a warning that the NVRAM battery temperature, battery capacity and chassis temperature are low.

May16 05:05:47 node1 [node1: nvram.battery.temp.low.warn:notice]:The NVRAM battery temperature is below normal (0 C).

May16 05:05:52 node1 [node1: nvram.battery.fccLowCrit:EMERGENCY]:The NVRAM battery full-charge capacity is critically low (0 ). To prevent dataloss, the system will shut down in 5 minutes.

May16 05:05:55 node1 [node1:nvram.battery.capacity.low.critical:EMERGENCY]: The NVRAM battery capacity is critically low (0 cycles). To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 5 minutes.

May16 05:05:55 node1 [node1: nvram.hw.degraded:error]: NVRAM hardware is degraded: NVS Power Good has fault.

May16 05:06:00 node1 [node1:monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Chassis temperature is too low..

May16 05:06:11 node1 [node1: callhome.battery.notice:notice]: Call home for BATTERY (temperature low) NOTICE.

  • And the status returns to normal within a minute.

May16 05:06:15 node1 [node1:monitor.chassisTemperature.ok:notice]: Chassis temperature is ok.

May16 05:06:16 node1 [node1: nvram.battery.temp.normal:info]: The NVRAM battery temperature is normal.

May16 05:06:16 node1 [node1: nvram.battery.fcc.normal:info]: The NVRAM battery full-charge capacity is normal.

May16 05:06:16 node1 [node1: nvram.hw.normal:notice]: NVRAM hardware is operating normally.

May16 05:06:17 node1 [node1: callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]:Call home for BATTERY (full charge capacity low) CRITICAL.

May16 05:06:25 node1 [node1: callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]:Call home for BATTERY (capacity low) CRITICAL.
