Answer

The behavior is expected as The SNAPMIRROR (Local or Remote)" status is for volume-level Snapmirror relationships and not SVM-DR relationships.

Example:

This is a source volume in a SnapMirror relationship. Both Snapshot Copies and Snapirror are checked:

In Protection - Overview, hover the cursor on the Snapmirror (Local or Remote) summary to display a brief report of replicated volumes.

In this scenario, volumes are not protected by their own volume-level SnapMirror relationships but they are protected as part of an SVM-DR relationship. As a result, OSM displays "Unprotected" when the volume details are expanded.
