Issue

After upgrading to ONTAP 9.11.1, ONTAP System Manager frequently fails to load the page, showing a browser error of ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR or SSL_ERROR_RX_MALFORMED_CERTIFICATE

  • A packet trace collected while navigating to the System Manager URL shows the following packet coming from the cluster:

    475 2022-08-24 18:12:00.626881 10.222.5.120 10.103.229.110 TLSv1.2 158 Server Hello, Certificate, Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Internal Error)

  • When checking the site information in the browser, certificate information is not available.
