Answer

  • WWPN-Alias in System Manager cannot be used for filtering.
  • WWPN alias is the only way for an admin to associate information like host OS or application to a WWPN.
  • It is not possible to use aliases for mapping LUNs or creating igroups, as only WWPNs and logged-in hosts are shown.
  • Add alias on CLI for each individual WWPN and pre-create the igroup(s), then use pre-created igroups in System Manager 9.8
