ONTAP System Manager (OSM)

Answer

  • Although NFS is selected during SVM creation, the creation of an export policy is optional and not fully described to the user.
  • If export policy is not created, it will not be able to mount any volumes via NFS
  • It was unable to successfully mount a volume as NFS datastore on VMware because the export policies were not active and troubleshooting from System Manager was not possible. CLI was used to fix this issue.
  • If export policy creation is not configured, there should be a prominent warning

Note: Ensure the default policy does not have any client rules while using System Manager
