Unable to delete SnapCenter backup due to active clone

Issue

The backup deletion job fails with the SMCore_<jobID> message similar to:
 
2022-09-23T10:41:39.9492230-07:00 ERROR SMCore_168884 PID=[3220] TID=[388] Activity (Storage Resource Clone Delete) of Workflow (SnapMgrCoreService.SmJobActivity), Failed with error: Unable to delete the clone due to previous errors, please cleanup the clone manually.
