SnapCenter email notifications fail with SSL certificate error after upgrade to 6.0

Issue

After upgrading SC to 6.0, email notifications fail with the following error messages seen:

SnapCenter UI:

An error occurred while attempting to establish an SSL or TLS connection. The host name (<SMTP_Server_in_SC_Settings>) did not match any of the names given in the server's SSL certificate: •<SMTP_Server_HOSTNAME> •<SMTP_Server_FQDN>. The remote certificate was rejected by the provided RemoteCertificateValidationCallback.

 

SnapManagerWeb log:

ERROR SnapManagerWeb_<JobID> PID=[xxxx] TID=[xxxx] Error sending email: MailKit.Security.SslHandshakeException: An error occurred while attempting to establish an SSL or TLS connection.

The host name (<SMTP_Server_in_SC_Settings>) did not match any of the names given in the server's SSL certificate:
  • <SMTP_Server_HOSTNAME>
  • <SMTP_Server_FQDN>
