Applies to

  • OnCommand Insight (OCI)
  • Active IQ for SolidFire (AIQ)
  • SolidFire data source

Answer

  • OnCommand Insight displays true node throughput, which is obtained from the GetNodeStats API. This throughput value includes throughput contributed from all workloads (replication, user data, etc.).
  • Active IQ for SolidFire displays a throughput value that is designed for volume QoS management, and is obtained by the ListVolumeStatsByVolume API. This throughput value is derived from adding up the throughput for volumes on the given node, isolating throughput that is attributed to serving user data.

The use cases for the above are different, but both methods of displaying node throughput are useful in practice.
