Active IQ Unified Manager installation on Linux fails with "Waiting for MySQL.."

Issue

  • When trying to do a fresh install on a Linux system which has previously had any version of AIQUM installed, it fails due to timeout while "Waiting for MySQL..."
  • Clearing /opt/netapp/ or /opt/netapp/data has no effect
  • Happens regardless of which version of MySQL is used, or which post-9.7 version of AIQUM one attempts to install
  • Sometimes, you may also see in /var/log/mysqld.log an error such as the following:
