Applies to

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Cloud Volume ONTAP (CVO)
  • Scheduled Maintenance Event

Answer

  • AWS should reboot the CVO gracefully and use a non-graceful way only if there is no other option.
  • As AWS perform changes to the underline infrastructure, there is no guarantee that issues will not occur although it is very rare and should not cause any data loss.

Note: In case of a single node CVO, the services will not be available during the maintenance activity.
