Can we enable dedupe on GCP volume that just moved?

Answer

  • When SIDL is enabled on data aggregates, enabling inline dedupe or compression will cause performance issues since CPU cycles needed for SIDL.
  • SIDL is enabled for increase of write performance by skipping NVRAM and writing data only once onto disk directly.

Additional Information

To check the SIDL status, from Cluster CLI run command aggregate show -aggregate <<aggregate_name> and check the Enable SIDL key
