When will create new Flexvol include LUN instead pure LUN when use Driver ontap-san-economy

  • For volumes created using the ontap-san driver, Trident provisions a FlexVol and a LUN, both of which are of the requested size in the PV.

it means FLexVol and LUN is 1:1 mapping.

  • For volumes created using the ontap-san-economy driver, Trident provisions multiple LUN per FlexVol.

it means FLexVol and LUN is 1:n mapping and default is 100.

So over below limitation will create new Flexvol.

limitAggregateUsage Fail provisioning if usage is above this percentage “” (not enforced by default)
limitVolumeSize Fail provisioning if requested volume size is above this value for the economy driver “” (not enforced by default)
lunsPerFlexvol Maximum LUNs per Flexvol, must be in range [50, 200] “100”
